In 1979, just two years out of college, Brenda Garrand was already the country’s youngest public television information director, working for Maine’s WCBB. 

National recognition of her talents beckoned her to prestigious agencies in larger cities, like Washington DC, but her desire to stay in Maine put her at a crossroads.


Though not yet 30 years old, Brenda created her own opportunities and launched a full-service communications agency in Maine.   

In 2010 Garrand was recognized by Ad Age and deemed as one of the top places to work.   As a national branding expert, Brenda has expanded Garrand’s clientele to include such companies as Sylvania, HP Hood, Hershey’s Milk and Milkshakes, Fairpoint, and the United Way.

This evening dinner event at the Cumberland Club, 116 High St. in Portland provides members with the opportunity to share their business literature, all participants may provide a 15 second introduction, and for you to network and meet between 20-30 other business women. 

The cost to attend is $25 for members and $30 for non-members.  We love having guests and prospective members! 


Free parking is available at the Cumberland Club parking lot. The Club's access is on Spring Street and directions are here:

Your registration is a commitment to attend, therefore a meal has been ordered in your name. If you find you need to cancel your registration, please do so by Thursday, October 3rd.  You may find someone to take your place but please let us know who will attend in your place. Early notification is important as we may be able to find a replacement for you from our waiting list if we have one. 

However, in the event you have to cancel and both parties are unable to provide a replacement, you will be invoiced for the registration fee plus a $5.00 administrative fee.

Level 1:  $150 members/$210 non-members which includes a membership.  

This sponsorship will provide you with an opportunity to speak about your business's service or product at the event for up to 10 minutes, have your logo and Website displayed on the MWN site and in all communications promoting the event.  You will also have the opportunity to display your marketing materials including a banner at the event. 

Level 2:  $75 provides recognition for your business's product or service in the form of an announcement at the start of the event as well as your logo and business name placement in event promotional materials.
